The artists with Down syndrome and intellectual disability of the association Asido Cartagena expose their last works in the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center during all this week until Friday 12 of May.
In the sample you can see more than 50 works made with different techniques and materials such as acrylics and recycled paper, with which the authors explore and reinterpret the history of art.
During the last year, in the workshops of the NGO in Santa Ana have met creators like Kandinski and its influence is reflected in this edition number 15 of the exhibition 'Sensations'.
The inauguration was held on Monday 8th, with the presence of Councilor for the Quality of Life Area, Francisco Calderón, and the delegate of Social Services and Social Mediation, Carmen Martín, and the director general of people with disabilities of the IMAS, Ana Guijarro, next to the new president of Asido Cartagena, Juan Pedro Sánchez.
This exhibition is intended for visitors to get to know the work of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability, 45 participants between 20 and 60 years of age who receive support at the Asido Cartagena Day Center.
In addition, the works can be acquired in the own sample and the collection reverts in the continuity of activities like this one.
Asido Cartagena is a non-profit organization driven by the families themselves, who came together to get the services and programs that these people need throughout their lives: from early attention to the smallest to the personal autonomy of the Adults.
In addition, Asido Cartagena composes, along with 26 other entities, 'Full inclusion Region of Murcia', the federation of associations of families of people with intellectual disabilities.
'Full inclusion Region of Murcia' is the result of the union of more than 3,000 families working together for the welfare of people with intellectual disabilities forming 27 entities.
Throughout Spain, full inclusion is made up of 891 entities spread over Spanish territory.
It represents more than 106,700 people with intellectual disabilities, 235,000 family members, 24,000 professionals and 8,000 volunteers.
