The Urrutias, Punta Brava and El Carmolí are already preparing for the arrival of the Second Amateur Express Theater Competition 'On the shores of the Mar Menor', which will be held in these three locations on 3, 4 and 5 August respectively.
In this initiative of the Department of Culture, they collaborate the Platform for the Performing Arts of Cartagena and the Municipal School of Theater.
This Thursday morning the second edition of the event was presented at a press conference attended by the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, the director of the Municipal School of Theater, Alfredo Ávila, and the coordinator of the event in El Carmolí by the Association of Neighbors of that locality, Milagros Márquez.
Likewise, the president of the Platform for the Performing Arts of Cartagena, Lito Campillo, has also been present.
The performances of the theater groups selected for this occasion will begin at 9:30 p.m. on days 3 and 4, and at 10 p.m. on day 5, at which the closing ceremony will be held.
Those companies that wish to participate in the contest can present their inscriptions in accordance with the bases of the same in the headquarters of the Department of Culture.
In the competition will participate theater groups of the city and the whole region and region, although the intention is that over time will take a national projection.
These companies that will compete in the second edition of the contest will do with small pieces of between 10 and 20 minutes in length of any kind of genre.
The motives that drive the Department of Culture to promote this initiative are, according to the mayor responsible for it, to try to reach all corners of the theater and increase the offer of leisure in these areas for all Cartagena, Cartagena and visitors Who spend their free time on holidays in the Mar Menor as well as turn it into a platform for the promotion of amateur artists and that can be made known to them, their shows and their talent.

The councilor has encouraged the actors, actresses, theater groups and also the public of the whole territory to know the area and participate in this contest.
