This Thursday May 11 is celebrated in the Auditorium and Congress Hall El Batel the gala of delivery of the XII edition of the Mandarache Prize.
It is the most important moment of the year in this literary contest in which the jury are the readers themselves, who in a democratic way grant with their votes the recognition of the winning works.
In addition to the winning authors of this year's Mandarache and Hache Prize - Miguel Ángel Ortiz and Luis Leante for 'The Immense Minority' and 'Flee without looking back', respectively - will be attended by 1,400 students and readers who have participated as a jury as well A representation of the municipal Executive headed by the mayor, Jos6 López, and the deputy mayor, Ana Belén Castej6n, and which will also include the Councilor for Youth, Ricardo Segado, and the delegated Councilor for Culture, David Martínez.
Also, the complementary prizes are awarded, which are: the prize for Best Illustration, the Microrrelations Contest, the prize for the Best Work to Promote Reading, the prize for the Best Literary Critic, the prize for Literary Videotapes and The award for Best Work of a Teaching Team.
Another of the highlights of the gala will be when the titles of the finalist works of the next edition are unveiled.
Starting at 11:00 am, the two writers who have won the Mandarache and Hache Prize will attend the media in the hall of the El Batel Auditorium, before the start, at 11:30 am, of the gala.
