The APEX (Audiovisual Preservation Exchange) program of the University of New York (NYU) will be in the Cartagena Municipal Archive from May 23 to June 1.
APEX promotes international collaboration and academic dialogue between professionals, students and the interested public in the preservation of films, analogue and digital media for the protection of the world's audiovisual heritage.
As part of the Master's Program in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation (MIAP), APEX has been carried out in countries such as Ghana, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina or Chile, and now in Spain in collaboration with Memoirs Celluloids / Red Home Cinema.
Taking advantage of his stay in the city, APEX will give some audiovisual preservation workshops in the Municipal Archive ("To the rescue of magnetic media!" And "Digital does not mean safe: learn to take care of your digital content").
