The Diabetes Society of Cartagena (Sodicar) organizes another year, and there are already 34, the Conferences, Talks and Workshops on diabetes for prevention, training and information about this condition, organized by this association and with the collaboration of the City Council through the Department of Quality of Life.
The Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, and the president of Sodicar, María Dolores García Ros, presented Monday morning the XXXIV edition of these days that will run from May 22 to 26.
The program will begin that same Monday at 18:30 hours, after the opening of this year's edition, with the workshop of healthy breakfasts and snacks 'It is also possible without palm fats', given by dietician and nutritionist María José Otón And by the nurse and educator on diabetes and collaborator of Sodicar Pilar Angosto.
"Food is a fundamental part of preventing diabetes," said María Dolores García, who also recalled that the association organizes these initiatives for the entire population, not only for people with diabetes.
On Tuesday, the 23rd at 7:30 p.m., the program will continue with the conference entitled 'Future Near Diabetes', which will be led by Dr. José Miguel Borrachero, member of the New Technologies Group of the Spanish Diabetes Society and the Group of Diabetes of the Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine.
The next day, also at the same time, the conference 'Prevention and treatment of diabetic foot', by Dr. Jorge de las Heras, traumatologist and orthopedic surgeon will take place.
