The Councilor for the Quality of Life Area, Francisco Calderón, presided this Friday, May 5, the opening of the 'Information and Training Day on Alzheimer', developed in the Hall of Acts of the headquarters in Cartagena University National Distance Education (UNED).
Calderón was also assisted by the deputy medical director of Health Area II, Trinitario Sánchez, and the manager of AFAL Cartagena y Comarca, Raúl Nieto.
The session, organized by the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer's Disease and other diseases in Cartagena and Comarca (AFAL), has been designed to provide information on Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative dementias.
The presentations have started with the physiotherapist Raúl Nieto, who has exposed the services provided by AFAL.
The social worker Maria Dolores Conesa has addressed the social repercussion in the patient and the family of these diseases, while the psychologist specialist in clinical neuropsychology, Sonia Gayoso, has made an approach to Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative dementias , As well as the main cognitive alterations in dementias.
