The Much More May 2017 Festival wants to add the city of Cartagena to this global movement, inspired by the vision of the activist Jane Jacobs, defender of a more humanized urbanism, to celebrate the pleasure of walking through the city through walks guided by volunteers.
This activity is framed within the program of activities of the VIII Festival of Emerging Art Mucho Más Mayo, and through it seeks to discover and respond to the complexity of the city of Cartagena through personal observation and shared their own Inhabitants who, under the vision of Jane Jacobs, are the neighbors themselves who know how to improve and strengthen their neighborhoods.
The urban character of the Festival ties in perfectly with the spirit of Jane Jacobs' strolls.
In this sense, the Higher Technical School of Architecture and Building (ETSAE), in collaboration with the City of Cartagena, will be in charge of carrying out these guided tours, which will be held in the old town on Sunday, May 14 at 12:00 pm and Saturday, May 20, at 1:00 p.m., in the Barrio del Peral-José M.ª Lapuerta, a guest area at the Festival.
To attend the walk that will take place in the old part of Cartagena, it is necessary to pre-register, from 1 to 12 May, at muchomasmayo@ayto-cartagena.es or by phone 968128850. Both walks are free and open access.
