This Thursday morning was the final stage of the IV Municipal Athletics League Intercentros in the Municipal Athletics Track, in the male and female categories, in which the Miralmonte and Salesian schools were ranked first in the male and female categories respectively.
The tests of 60 meters smooth, 500 meters smooth, discus throwing, long jump, high jump and 4x60 relays were the ones realized by the young athletes of the 23 participating schools, of which 14 teams had been classified for this phase final.
The day began with an inaugural parade of the participating teams, carrying the Olympic flag a representative of each center, giving way to the development of the competition.
The athletic day ended with the awards ceremony, where all centers received a gift for their participation, as well as the top three in each category.
Great athletic atmosphere that was lived in the morning of this Thursday in the Municipal Track, which was attended by a large number of relatives of the young athletes as well as a representation of teachers from each center who were at all times collaborating and encouraging To their respective teams.

The competition was coordinated and assisted by CA Elcano instructors and had the collaboration of students in TAFAD practice.
Likewise, the main objectives of the activity, which were the approach to the sport of athletics and competition, the promotion of athletics from the base with the young athlete and to highlight the values ​​of the sport from the base were satisfactorily fulfilled.
The IV Municipal Athletics League Intercentros, in which 460 athletes have participated, is organized by the Department of Sports within the ADE Program and by the Elcano Athletics Club, with the collaboration of the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia and the club UCAM Cartagena.
This activity is part of the School Sport Program developed by the Council of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
