The Local Police of Cartagena will intensify the surveillance of the circulation of vehicles and the fulfillment of the loading and unloading schedules in the old part of the city due to the celebration of the Cruces de Mayo this weekend, where it is also foreseen The arrival of 5,900 tourists coming from cruise ships.

Thus, from today, May 5, starting at 11.00h, access will not be allowed to the more central streets, to facilitate the installation of the different ornamental Crosses and, in addition, to guarantee the safety of 2,650 tourists who They visit during the day while they stop at the port.

On Saturday May 6, also starting at 11.00h, the center will not be accessible for the same reasons, welcoming that day to 3,250 cruise passengers.

On Sunday, May 7, starting at 3:00 pm, access will be allowed to the more central streets, to facilitate the disassembly of the Cruces de Mayo.

Also, to guarantee access to residents, it is reported that owners and users of garages, must do it as follows, as long as it does not affect the holding of an event:

C / Caballero and C / San Antonio el Pobre: ​​Access by Calle Caballero in counter-direction from Caridad street

C / Aire: Access by street Villamartín

With this measure, agents will ensure that the mobility of people is safer where the influx of pedestrians to the historic center is much greater.
