On the occasion of World Fibromyalgia Day and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, celebrated on Friday, May 12, the Association of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome of Cartagena and its Region (AFIBROCAR) organizes various activities, including Emphasizes the I Gala Beneficent, designed to inform and raise awareness about this disease, so that it is better known and also promote research, treatment and prevention.
The events will begin a week before, this Friday 5 at 19:00 in the Conference Room of the Regional Assembly, with the conference 'Fibromyalgia.
An ethnographic approach to its socio-cultural meanings and frameworks ", to be carried out by the anthropologist José Ramón García Molina.
The Mayor of Cartagena, José López, the deputy mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, will take place on Thursday 11 at 11:00 p.m. in the Palace Hall.
On the 12th, the manifesto will be read at the doors of the Regional Assembly, with the presence of authorities.
On this day a large blue ribbon will hang from the facade of the parliamentary headquarters of the regional government in solidarity with those affected by this disease and also will be distributed informative tables throughout the city,
Specifically in the Regional Assembly, the Town Hall Square, the Plaza Juan XXIII, the General University Hospital Santa Lucía, the General University Hospital Santa María del Rosell, the Health Center of San Vicente-Casco Antiguo and the Health Center of the Conception.
The celebration of this day will culminate with the First AFIBROCAR Charity Gala, which will be at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center starting at 7:00 p.m., and which counts with the collaboration of the Councils of Social Services and Culture of the City Council of Cartagena and the program 'Implica2' of the Department of Youth.
In this event will participate Adrián Ruiz, the Nuria Mas Dance School, the group of students 'Method Abellán' Ritmaco and the Pikú Orchestra.
