Fuente de Cubas has celebrated this last weekend in April its Popular Festivals and the Third Cross of May, with which the Council of Festivals collaborates.
The activities took place from Friday 28 April until Monday 1 May in Plaza Madrid in the Cartagena neighborhood.
The parties began with the inauguration of the festival grounds and the assembly of the 3rd Cross of May.
After the call, with pasacalles in charge of the band of horns and drums of the neighborhood, the structure of the cross with flowers was decorated for its definitive formation.
'Fran's show' and its dolls put the children's note to the afternoon session, and the musical duo Azabache, put his performance to the end of the first day.
On Saturday, the big feast day took place, which began with the big children's marathon at noon.
In the afternoon, the Holy Mass and the blessing of the Holy Cross were celebrated, followed by the procession in the pilgrimage of the Cruz de Mayo through the streets of the neighborhood.
Finally the proclamation of exaltation to the Cross was run this year by the Councilor of Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, who was accompanied by the councilor delegate of Tourism, Obdulia Gómez;
Moment after which dishes of migas and products of the earth were distributed among the assistants, and also acted Pepe Márquez 'The Cuckoo'.
Already on Sunday the Mandala group gave a dance show.
The great tournament of mechanical bull, with infantile, juvenile and adult modalities, served for the neighbors to demonstrate their expertise.
The competitors and everyone who approached the Plaza Madrid were able to participate in the great 'chocolate' with buns.
The music of Pablo Moreno 'Maca' was the soundtrack of that night.
On May 1st, to put an end to the parties this year, a giant paella was organized for all attendees.
