The plenary of the City Council of Cartagena has unanimously approved a motion to create a commission, led by the general secretary of the plenary, which will be in charge of drafting the comprehensive reform of the Rules of Procedure of the Plenary, in order to clarify various aspects of the Current regulation and give greater fluidity and efficiency to the debates, differentiating also what are merely political pronouncements of which it has a decisive character, within the municipal competences.

ECOLOGICAL GROUNDS

The plenary also unanimously approved a motion of CTSSP for the City Council to regulate and implant ecological urban gardens, which may also benefit people at risk of social exclusion.

In line with this motion, the Councilor for Quality of Life, Francisco Calderón, has announced that next week will launch a greenhouse and municipal ecological orchard in Nueva Cartagena.

CARTAGENA, GATRONOMIC CAPITAL

On the proposal of Citizens, the Corporation also unanimously approved a motion to study at the Local Council of Commerce the presentation of the candidature of Cartagena as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy.

Also on proposal of Citizens, the adhesion of the City Council of Cartagena to the Association of Parks and Public Gardens has been unanimously approved.

With the abstention of the PP has approved another motion of Citizens requesting greater control and demand on the burning of agricultural waste.

Another of the motions unanimously approved by Citizens has referred to the implementation of an observatory of the sport of the city, which would have the collaboration of the universities of the region.

RECOVERY OF THE DOZEN CAĂ‘ONAZO

On the proposal of the PP has approved, with the vote against CTSSP, a motion requesting the recovery of the cannon shot of the 12 that for so many years marked the day to day of the city, from the facilities of the Military Arsenal.

From the City Hall is going to ask the Navy for its recovery, although as explained by the mayor, who has made previous efforts, his recovery is conditioned by the cost of salvos and the ancient caliber of the pieces that made the shots.

MONUMENT FUNERARY OF TORRECIEGA

Likewise, a motion of the PP has been approved, in this case unanimously, to carry out maintenance work in the vicinity of the funeral monument of Torreciega, which the Councilor for Decentralization, Juan Pedro Torralba, has indicated that they are already planned.

In line with this motion, the mayor, José López, has also informed of the efforts being made with the owners of the land to enable in the area of ​​the old bridge of Torreciega a footbridge, which allows pedestrian communication, today in Very dangerous day, between the neighborhood and the city.

FLAG OF THE MARITIME PROVINCE

The last motion approved by the plenary has been the one presented by the PP urging the municipal government not to use the flag of the Maritime Province of Cartagena in official events, and to remove it from the Councils and public buildings of municipal ownership, in particular the Consisitorial Palace, considering that it is a flag over which it has no powers and is used for partisan purposes;

An issue that has been rejected by the government that understands that it represents all the men and women of the sea and is used by many Cartagena and Cartagena outside political affinities.

The motion has gone ahead with votes in favor of PP and CTSSP;

The abstention of Citizens and the vote against PSOE and MC.

RUEGOS

During the plenary session, the municipal government has also collected a number of requests, such as those formulated by CTSSP for the inclusion of a new stop on line 8 of the Icue Bus on Avenida Reina Victoria and on the control of disturbing noises in the historic center.

From the PP have been collected relating to the cleaning of green areas in Sebastián Feringán;

Updating the information of social work units on the municipal website;

Cleaning and clearing of gutters on roads in the west;

Fix of damages in the detachment of Local Police of Cabo de Palos;

Replacement of the poster of Welcome of La Manga and adaptation of the road of Calarreona and the study of a parking in the area for bathers.
