More than one hundred professionals attend the regional symposium on continuity of care for nursing held in Cartagena (27/04/2017)

The Hospital General Universitario Santa Lucía de Cartagena has hosted this morning the First Regional Symposium on Nursing Care Continuity, attended by over one hundred professionals to advance in improving the continuity of care of patients in primary and hospital care.

The meeting, which was inaugurated by the Director General of Health Care of the Murciano Health Service, Mercedes Martínez-Novillo, and the manager of the health area of ​​Cartagena, José Sedes, presented, from different scientific perspectives, how the patient should At the center of the health system to receive comprehensive care.

The current model, which integrates primary and hospital care, as well as care plans and care reports, among others, optimizes this coordination.

These instruments reduce duplicity of consultations, complementary tests and referrals, as well as reduce delay in waiting lists and obtain a real perception of the patient from the improvement in the quality of care provided.

Symposium program, from theory to practice

The meeting was developed from two discussion tables.
