Almost half a hundred students from Narval College and four colleges from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece and Portugal, visited the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena this morning.
The visit is part of the cultural activities organized by the Cartagena educational institution for this multilateral exchange being carried out in the city as a result of the European Erasmus + program.
In the public building have been received the Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón and the second deputy mayor, Francisco José Calderón, who after the act of reception have given a gift to each student as a souvenir of this visit.
A gesture to which the team of foreign teachers has corresponded with the delivery of typical wafers from the Czech Republic and a glass of bohemian glass.
Castejón wanted to welcome them and explained that this reception had been the result of a request through the social network facebook of one of the mothers of students of the school Narval, since in principle was not expected reception by authorities .
"We are here to help you and to thank you for this exchange with students from several countries," the deputy mayor told the team of teachers of the school.
The group of foreign students is composed of a total of 16 students and 10 teachers accompananates and is the result of a project presented to the Erasmus + program by Petra Phihalova, teacher of the Czech school.
Philalova wanted to thank everybody in Cartagena, who is being so attentive to them, but especially to the team of teachers of the Narval school that has perfectly organized this exchange.
"We feel that this project is very important, especially for the students, because they can get to know each other, they can see different cultures and they get something very important, which is trust," he said.
The Narval school was selected by Philalova for this project, financed by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education SEPIE, to make a visit to each of the countries to which the selected educational institutions belong.
Last February, four students from Narval attended the meeting in Portugal, and now the second stage of this initiative is being held in Cartagena.
During the year the visit will be made to the Czech Republic, Hungary and finally to Greece
