'UPCT- Bloopbusters' is the name that receives the initiative of a group of professors of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena who combined their experience in the scientific field with their passion on the cinematographic world.
Through this project, they intend to bring the foundations of different branches of engineering and architecture from the content of films of all time to the non-specialized public.
During the development of this activity they will show the audience the errors, reality, fiction, the glorious past or the near future that the film projections have shown about the technology, being even in some films the vertebral axis by which the plot.
This activity is framed within the cycle 'Coffees with science and thought' of the quarterly program of Cartagena Piensa, organized by the Council of Culture of the City of Cartagena, and will take place this Thursday, April 27 at 20:00 hours in the Café-bar El Soldadito de Plomo.
The attendance to the same is of free access and until completing capacity.
The project 'UPCT-Bloopbusters' is part of the Scientific and Technological Culture Unit of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, which has the support of the Digital Content Production Center of the same and with the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science And Technology of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
Through this activity, attendees are expected to observe how cinema intertwines with science, in a kind and scientifically rigorous manner, as well as to check the scientific reliability of the technological aspects shown in futuristic films.
