The Consistorial Palace has hosted this Tuesday, April 25, the presentation of the 'Rentatherapy' campaign aimed at taxpayers with the aim of marking box 106, that of the 'X Solidaria', in its statement of income this year .
Councilors for Quality of Life and Social Services, Francisco Calderón and Carmen Marín, respectively, have shown their support for this campaign of which more than 7 million people benefit in Spain.
The event was also attended by the Territorial Coordinator of the Cepaim Foundation in Cartagena, Pedro López;
The President of the Platform of the Third Sector of the Region of Murcia and EAPN RM, Diego Cruzado;
The Caritas minister in Cartagena, Petri García;
And the Chairman of the Permanent Commission of CERMI Region of Murcia, Pedro Martínez, as well as two users of the associations ACCEM and Torre Nazareth, who have related their experience in these associations and how they have helped them to move forward with quality of life.
Pedro López has emphasized the importance of "that gesture we do every year by marking the box corresponding to social purposes and that translates into seven million people in Spain can enjoy better quality of life."
Thus, he has thanked that commitment on the part of the citizens.
It has also acknowledged that the campaign's ability to disseminate these charities is "very limited".
For this reason, he wished to express his gratitude to the media, while affirming that the 2016 campaign meant a 5% increase in the amount collected for social purposes compared to the previous year, which resulted in more than 15 Million euros that went "to direct work with people in situation of social vulnerability".
This year a total of 564,000 leaflets have been distributed, 19,900 posters, 3,000 vinyls placed in the social entities that participate in the campaign, 405 posters in mupis of train stations, four videos that have been distributed through social networks, a spot Advertising that is broadcast on television as well as advertising on urban public transport lines and on the web 'www.xsolidaria.es'.
Thus, during the presentation of this Tuesday, have been able to visualize two of the videos that have been designed for this year's campaign, so that in the first one could see several people preparing to practice 'Rentatherapy' and in The second, it was remembered that marking the square of the Church, in addition, will contribute double.
This year's campaign is focused on the taxpayer with clear and direct messages, with the aim of informing that marking box 106 of social purposes implies that 0.7% of taxes will go to NGOs.
In this regard, Petri Garcia has asked, in reference to the boxes that are destined for solidarity purposes or the Church, "do not stay blank".
Thus, he pointed out that, if you mark the box for social purposes and the box for the Catholic Church, "we will not have to pay more or give us back less", but double the contribution because, "marking both options, Taxpayers would be allocating 1.4% instead of 0.7% of their taxes, without this having an impact on their tax return, since the aid is not divided and taxpayers will not Will pay less. "
2016 FIGURES AND MUNICIPAL SUPPORT FOR THE CAMPAIGN
During the presentation, Pedro Martínez recalled that, in 2016, 56% of taxpayers in Spain marked box 106 of social purposes, while in the Region of Murcia was 52.2% and in the municipality of Cartagena, that number drops to 50.8%.
Thus, he stressed, although the figure is high, is still below the national average.
On the other hand, it has indicated that 14% of the taxpayers marked only the box of the Church in their statement of Renta 2016 and, in the Region of Murcia, this figure increases to 18.5%, reason why it has animated To these people to "mark the two boxes".
In addition, he highlighted the transparency in the distribution that is made in the 234 million euros allocated to social action projects, which are distributed through bases in a public call to which NGOs must be rigorously adjusted " As he has stressed, the people who mark the box of Solidarity X may have "total guarantee that, with this simple gesture, that costs us nothing, my will make them give us back less, we will be helping every year NGOs can attend The concrete needs of seven million people at risk of social exclusion and that would double if all people marked this box ":
Carmen Martín and Francisco Calderón have spoken in this line, who have shown the commitment of the City of Cartagena to collaborate in the campaign 'Rentatherapia' and have encouraged the Cartagena people to mark box 106 of the declaration of Renta 2017. Thus, The Councilor for Social Services has assured that "the money arrives" and has highlighted the importance of this campaign to make citizens aware of the need to mark this box, while Calderón, who was previously president of the Food Bank, has ensured that "Money is multiplied" to help the most needy.
