This Monday was the final of the Piano Mode of the Classical Music Competition for Young Performers of the Region of Murcia 'Entre cuerdas y metales', jointly organized by the Council of Youth of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.
Nine young pianists competed for the awards in a contest that was, at least, at odds.
These were Guillermo Pintado, José Francisco Amaya and Victor Amaya of the Conservatory of Cartagena, Ana Zhou and Mª del Amor Miñarro of the Conservatory of Lorca and Juan Francisco Ayala, Olivia Figueras, José Jiménez and Rafael Jiménez of the Conservatory of Murcia.
Elegance, talent, demand, concentration but also joy and smiles, were the elements present in the Auditorium of the Cartagena Conservatory yesterday afternoon.
From the age of eleven, the smallest contestant to nineteen the oldest, all stroked the keys of the piano precisely to enjoy the three members of the jury and the large audience.
They interpreted works of Chopin, Debussy, Schumann and Mendelssohn, among others.
As always, after the complicated task of deliberation, the lucky winners have already decided, although their names will not be known before May 12, which will be the closing day, to which everyone is invited, and will have Place in the Batel Auditorium from 20:00 hours.
