The Department of Education of the City of Cartagena holds from May 8 to 31 its XXIX Exhibition of School Theater, which will act more than 240 students from 15 schools in the municipality and that can enjoy all those schools that want.
Regarding this issue, the Councilor for Education, David Martinez, has ensured that "to make theater, it is not necessary for the child to be artists, want to be in the future or have an innate quality for it, Want to have fun, invent and interpret stories and make friends. "Thus, he explained that" our goal is to help the development of verbal and corporal expression, while stimulating the memory capacity, mental agility and diction of students ".
In this way, during the month of May will be staged the various plays that schools have worked during the school year 2016/2017 with the help of theater monitors subsidized by the Department of Education.
A total of 15 schools participate in this edition in which 16 plays are presented, as there are two theatrical groups in one of the centers.
The works are diverse, from musicals to comedy through adaptations and even some original work.
They are directed to all the school cycles from Infant Education to Bachiller, therefore there will be a public of different ages.
During this course, about 240 students participated in the workshops, which will show the work done during the last months, together with five monitors and 32 teachers.
Schools that wish to attend as a public should request such assistance to the mail programsteatro@ayto-cartagena.es indicating the day and work they wish to see, school year attending, number of students and number of teachers.
With the theater, self-esteem is increased, you learn to respect and coexist in groups, to know and control emotions, to discover discipline and constancy at work, as well as to learn how to deal with the public.
