The Local Police of Cartagena carried out a campaign of road safety during the last week with the objective of monitoring the speeding and that has finished with the control to 6,100 drivers, of whom 170 have been denounced for exceeding the established limits.
Thus, only 2.78 percent of the drivers controlled from Monday, April 17, through Sunday 23, were driving at an inadeuated speed.
The Road Safety Law and the General Circulation Regulations establish the rules applicable to the generic and specific limits of speed, speed in overtaking and distances between vehicles.
Failure to comply with these rules is classified as a serious or very serious infringement, sanctioned with fines of 100 to 600 euros.
