The IV Municipal Athletics League Intercentros has started Monday with its previous phase, which will continue this Tuesday25 and Wednesday 26 April.

In total, 460 athletes born in 2005/2006 in the men's and women's category, corresponding to 23 schools in Cartagena and Comarca will compete in this edition of the championship that takes place in the Municipal Court of Athletics of Cartagena.

The final phase, which will pass the 8 best centers of the 23 participants, will be played on May 4.

The participating schools will be divided into three groups corresponding to the previous phase, making the following program:

- Group A (Monday 24): Carmelitas, Gabriela Mistral, Cuatro Santos, Salesianos, Hispania, Luis Calandre and La Vaguada.

- Group B (Tuesday 25): Franciscanos, Fernando Garrido, San Antonio Abad, Miralmonte, Santa Florentina (La Palma), Garden City, San Vicente de Paúl and San Fulgencio (Pozo Estrecho).

- Group C (Wednesday 26): Stella Maris, Narval, Virgen del Carmen, Maristas, Mare Nostrum, Feliciano Sánchez, San Felix and La Asomada.

This championship is carried out with the intention of bringing the sport of athletics and the competitive spirit to primary school children, respecting the sports values ​​that must be maintained in all competitions, instilling these principles from the base with the young athletes.

As in its first edition, the Municipal Athletic League is organized by Department of Sports within the ADE Program and the Elcano Athletics club, with the collaboration of the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia and the club UCAM Cartagena.

This activity is part of the School Sport Program developed by the Council of Sports of the City of Cartagena.
