In the morning of today, under the presidency of the mayor, José López (MC), the Commission of Inquiry will study the acquisitions made since 2006 for the expansion of the administrative building of San Miguel.
The municipal group MC has designated as members of the Commission María José Soler (holder) and Isabel García (alternate).
Due to the extension of the object of study of this Commission, the proposal of the mayor, in order to guarantee the impartiality in the same, has been to give the presidency to a member of the opposition.
The first option prompted by Lopez was that the presidency fell to the councilman of the Municipal Group C's, Alfredo Nieto, because "he has worked at home, is a rigger, and has notions more than spare on urbanism."
When Nieto is designated as deputy of his municipal group, the president will be the spokesman of C's, Manuel Padín.
López has expressed surprise at the fact that the PP has claimed the chairmanship of the Commission as it is precisely its administrative activity most of the subject of the investigation.
Similarly, it has been very striking that the PP has appointed as members of the Commission Álvaro Valdés as the holder, and Francisco Espejo as an alternate.
Mirror presents an evident implication in the object of the investigation due to its previous responsibility like councilman of Urbanism during the mandate of the Popular Party in the City council of Cartagena.
In the course of this Commission of Inquiry, the Popular Party will have to offer explanations on the acquisition at high prices of real estate or the incapacity shown by the current PP spokesman, Francisco Espejo, and the local Popular Party president, Joaquin Segado, responsible for Urbanism in past legislatures, who could not close in ten years the procedure of expropriation of the Hotel Peninsular initiated by its own party.
Equally, it is especially revealing the interest of the PP to keep this property closed and not to install in the same different municipal services and even the Local Police, with the consequent benefit that would suppose in the service to the citizen.
