The Palmar de Dragon Boat of the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena (RCR Cartagena) showed last Saturday, April 8, its support for the 'Anti-rumor Strategy' being carried out by the City of Cartagena through the Council of Social services.
To this end, each of the athletes wore a T-shirt with the message 'Cartagena free of rumors', which constitutes the slogan of the campaign 'Cartagena free of rumors'.
Thus, RCR Cartagena joins this initiative that highlights the false rumors and prejudices towards immigrants, encouraging them to combat stereotypes that make it difficult to coexist with a part of the citizens of the municipality that already constitutes 14% of the population.
"This gesture, coupled with other groups and people who are joining the strategy, is a clear example of the citizens' commitment to walk towards a Cartagena in which are eliminated the prejudices and stereotypes generated towards the immigrant community, which limit And hinder coexistence, "explained the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín del Amor.
Since its public presentation on 21 March, awareness-raising workshops are being held in educational centers, as well as information on the campaign in public spaces that is generating a multitude of support, both anonymous and public, as shown by the Palistas of the Real Club Of Regatas, the players of the Soccer Club Cartagena or artists like the dj cartagenero Valdi.
The campaign will continue with the development of information and awareness actions in the city, and working on the methodology to counter rumors identified among Cartagena citizens.
