Municipal ordinance to regulate parks

At the Plenary of last February, Citizens managed to move forward with their motion for the City Council to review all the playgrounds in the municipality in order to check if they comply with European safety and health regulations.

The plenary agreement included developing as soon as possible a municipal ordinance regulating the creation, maintenance, use and necessary safety measures in public and private playgrounds, in a way that preserves the correct development of this play activity and Comply with European regulations.

The future ordinance should include, on a proposal from Cs, the obligation that the new areas for children and some of those that now exist should be accessible to children with a physical or mental disability.

This was the Citizens' response to the conclusions of a study carried out by the UPCT which pointed out that the children's playgrounds of the Windmill, San Ginés de la Jara and Capitanes Ripoll lack pavement that dampens the blows and adequately protects the children;

The report recommended that the City Council comply with the safety standards associated with these facilities as soon as possible.
