The councilman of the municipal group MC, Ricardo Segado, today sent a letter to the director of Carrefour, Pedro Jose Serrano, where he invites his company and the rest of companies that make up the business and commercial fabric established in the Region, to resolutely support the heritage and traditions of Cartagena.
The letter responds to the malaise created by a good part of Cartagena who have expressed their dissatisfaction with the commercial sale as 'regional costume' of a typical or traditional costume of another municipality, such as the 'huertano' of the city of Murcia.
In this sense, Segado explains that this dress "does not correspond at all with ours nor with our traditions".
Likewise, the councilman of MC points out that "we respect, as it can not be otherwise, the traditions and festivities of other municipalities in the Region, and we want them to endure in time and the private and commercial sector to support them."
"For this reason, we also request the same support for ours," adds Segado.
Collaboration between the public and private sector
The mayor continues to allude to the "fundamental implication" of the business and commercial fabric of the Region of Cartagena in the culture and heritage it holds.
"For this and in a constructive way, we want to get that message of collaboration between the public and private sector. We can all preserve everything we can to keep it going."
Lastly, Ricardo Segado points out that when he speaks of culture and heritage, in this case, "I mean our traditional costumes, our gastronomy and parties, and a long list under the trimilenary mark of the Region of Cartagena."
