The Municipal Court of Athletics Cartagena will host next April 12, Holy Wednesday, the XXXI edition of the traditional Athletics Trophy City of Cartagena 'Memorial Jesus Sanchís Trobat' held every year in Holy Week.
A day organized by the City Council together with the athletic clubs 'Cartagena' and 'Elcano' and which has the collaboration of UCAM and the General Directorate of Sports of CARM.
Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, presented this Wednesday with Alonso Gómez López, general director of Sports of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, and the director of the event, Patricia Paz.
Between 16:30 and 19:00 hours on Holy Wednesday, a total of 28 disciplinary events will be held such as discus throwing, javelin throwing, weight throwing, high and long jump, and hurdles and speed races at Female and male categories.
The entrance for the public that wishes to attend to witness the Tournament is free.
The event will be attended by athletes from all over Spain, and especially the athletes from Cartagena who are located in a high place in the national athletics ranking, such as the medalists in Spanish championships in combined tests Vicente Guardiola, Sergio Jornet and Pablo Diaz. Athletes highlighted in speed tests Marta Meroño and Blanca Peñuelas.
