The Fifth Manga and Japanese Culture Show in Cartagena will gather 10,000 visitors on May 6 and 7 (05/04/2017)

The fifth edition of the Manga and Japanese Culture of Cartagena, 'Cartagena ReManga', will take place on 6 and 7 May at the headquarters of the Higher School of Industrial Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) Where this year will spend about 10,000 people to enjoy more than 200 activities.

The director general of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta López-Briones, attended today the presentation of 'Cartagena se ReManga' with the director of the show, Antonio Álvarez;

For this event, organized in collaboration with the UPCT, the Ministry of Culture and the City of Cartagena, there are scheduled activities covering a wide range of manga and Japanese culture, such as talks, exhibitions, cosplay, karaoke and dance contests, Video games tournaments, workshops and concerts such as Connect, the most recognized national band in Japanese rock / metal, and Ruki Chan, the Spanish singer who has triumphed in Japan.

Lopez-Briones stated that "the world of comics and manga has become a magnificent gateway for young people to the world of culture in all its disciplines and slopes."

At the Manga Exhibition in Cartagena, he added, "exhibitions, concerts, gastronomy, literature and craft workshops will bring together thousands of people, young and old, demonstrating, once again, the convening power and tourist value of events like this , Since it is expected that about 30 percent of the visitors arrive from outside the municipality. Exhibitions of 'Dragon Ball' and Taniguchi

Other highlights include the exhibitions on the illustrations of 'Dragon Ball' and another that will pay homage to Taniguchi, a well-known author of Japanese manga recently deceased, as well as talks organized on topics such as gastronomy and for those who are thinking of traveling to Japan.
