This morning, the Board of Contract of the City of Cartagena, under the chairmanship of the Councilor for Finance, Contracting and Patrimony, Isabel García, has addressed, among other issues, the contract for the installation of polyester columns reinforced with fiberglass (PRFV) for public lighting in the Ensanche-Almarjal sector.
The new supports will have a height of seven meters.
Altogether, 156 metallic lighting fixtures will be replaced, which are in an advanced state of corrosion, mainly due to the acidity of the canine urine, which puts at risk the integrity and stability of the lampposts.
The work will be completed, in the short and medium term, with the replacement of luminaires by other LED technology.
This project is channeled from the area of Sustainable Development directed by the mayor, José López, and which continues the initiatives promoted last year for the replacement of corroded columns and in danger of falling at various points on Avenida Pintor Balaca or Ramón y Cajal, among others.
Experience has shown that this type of support reinforced with fiberglass has the endorsement of durability, since it is a material that is not susceptible to oxidation, in addition to being resistant to atmospheric agents.
Likewise, it requires minimal maintenance.
Finally, it is worth noting its character of electrical insulation, since it is composed of non-conductive materials.
This morning, the Bureau of Recruitment has reported on the bids submitted by the seven companies that choose to tender the contract.
The same will be sent to the municipal technical services to study if there is any disproportionate or reckless loss, before making the proposal of award.
The mentioned action will be carried out in the following ways: Prince of Asturias (stretch between Avenida Reina Victoria and Paseo Alfonso XIII);
Balaca painter;
Jiménez de la Espada;
Ramón y Cajal (stretch between Avenida Reina Victoria and Paseo Alfonso XIII);
Wsell de Guimbarda (stretch between Avenida Reina Victoria and Paseo Alfonso XIII);
