The Mare Nostrum Campus, from the International University of the Sea, has presented the program of courses of this year, which began this month of March and will be extended until next October, with an extensive offer of training in different areas.

The presentation was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López;

The Minister of Education and Universities, María Isabel Sánchez-Mora;

And the rectors of the universities of Murcia and Cartagena, José Orihuela and Alejandro Díaz, respectively.

Thus, the mayor of Cartagena has described as an "important milestone" the fact that the two public universities are bringing their courses back this summer, in which he already celebrates his XXXIV edition, while claiming that in an Autonomous Community such as Region of Murcia, which has about 300 days of sun a year, do not limit the call for summer courses to 60 days, but can be extended to 12 months of the year.

At the same time, it has shown its willingness to "require from the higher administrations a permanent seat for the University of the Sea, where the autonomous community is located and shows how two universities of two cities complement each other perfectly and take their courses throughout the year" .

Thus has launched the proposal to the Ministry of Development so that "the battery of Santa Florentina and Santa Ana Casamatada is given so that the two universities can have a permanent headquarters in a space where to develop the courses that they carry out now and can expand your offer".

In this sense, it has influenced that "we can be the summer university of Spain" since "we have many summer months and we should optimize that resource".

On the other hand, to questions of the press, the first mayor has lamented that there are students in prefabricated classrooms in the schools of the Autonomous Community, despite the fact of "anecdotal" measures, as it has described on Tuesday Minister of Education and Universities.
