The Municipal Pavilion Wssell de Guimbarda hosted yesterday, Thursday 23, the first part of the XXXVII School Competition of Sets in the form of Gymnastic Rhythmic Sports, with a great success of participation.
More than 600 young athletes aged between 3 and 17 years, distributed in 120 teams, represented 23 educational centers and sports facilities.
The objective of this competition is to motivate daily learning and to take advantage of the educational values that emanate from the spirit of the competition, considering that sports practice is essential in the integral formation of children.
The stands were filled with more than 2,500 people who were encouraged to attend this competition, and enjoyed the music and choreography of older and younger in a pavilion full of light, color, paintings, brightness, rhythm and fun.
The exercises were supervised by 30 technicians specialized in this sport modality, who valued the technical and sports knowledge of the students of the Municipal Schools of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
At the end they held an exhibition of the Clubs of the Gimnasia Cartagena Project, which have been collaborating with the Department of Sports since 1986, which involved the team Children 12-14 years of the Club Gymnastics San Antn Champions of Spain in the modality of Group Aesthetic Gymnastics , As well as Valeria Rafalska with tape, of the Club Rtmica Cartagena.
This sporting event is part of the School Age Sport program, which is jointly organized by the City of Cartagena and the General Directorate of Physical Activity and Sport of the Autonomous Community of the Region.
The participating teams belong to the Wsell pavilions of Guimbarda, Barrio Peral, San Antn, Canteras, Los Dolores, Jimnez de la Espada, El Algar, La Palma, El Albujn, Molinos Marfagones, La Manga-Playa Paraiso, La Manga San Javier and Cabo Of Palos, as well as of the Marist, Salesian, Da Vinci-Belones, Narval, Gabriela Mistral, Our Lady of Loreto-San Javier, Jos Mara Lapuerta, San Cristobal, Miralmonte and La Unin schools.
