The CDA Lapuerta-Ajedrízate has closed the 2016 season with great results and has left the bar very high for the next years, to reap successes like the one that reached the equipment sub-12 in the Championship of Spain when becoming national co-champions.
The first of his successes came in the School Championship of Murcia, in which the chess sports club participated with CEIP students José María Lapuerta.
In addition, in the regional championships base, was the school with more regional champions and obtained the greater number of podiums, when raising to them nine of the 12 participating representatives of the club.
On the other hand, in the individual Spanish championships they have obtained in all the categories to which they have presented great results, as much in the modality of slow matches as fast, since many of them were among the top 10 classified of their category.
But the finishing touch of the season was achieved by the under-12 team in the Championship of Spain by becoming co-champions of Spain, occupying the fourth place in the championship and tied with the first.
This classification came after defeating the favorite maximum in the last round, which was undefeated, by a forceful 3-1.
Thus, all these results have made it possible for the CDA Lapuerta - Ajedrízate school, with which the City Council of Cartagena collaborates, to have entered the elite of National Chess this 2016. And is that, the Consistory supports this sport at a competitive and educational level , By making possible the project 'Chess in the classrooms' at CEIP Jose Maria de Lapuerta.
