The I solidarity road in favor of autism will cross the port of Cartagena and will reach the mountains of Galeras and battery of Fajardo.
The Sports and Solidarity event was presented this morning at a press conference by the Councilor for Sports, Ricardo Segado, the vice president of the Association for the Care of People with Autism and Developmental Disorder (Astrade), Francisco Javier Jiménez, the representative of Astrade , Nagui Takaoka, and the representative of Yacht Port Cartagena, Julia Torres.
The Astrade Association organizes this non-competitive test under the motto 'Pinta de azul tu corazón', which will be held on March 26, and which "aims to give visibility to a problem that many people in our environment suffer" said Segado .
The City Council of Cartagena, next to Mountain Club Mountain Fox, have been "overturned" with this test to make it a success.
This is an activity within the program of the International Autism Day to be held on April 2.
The vice president of Astrade has indicated that "this is a very important opportunity for Cartagena to make autism visible."
It has also reported, to account for the relevance of this disease, that "currently the trend is that 1 in every 68 births may suffer from an autism spectrum disorder."
In his speech Jiménez thanked that the City has launched a project to create a specific center dedicated to autism.
A facility that is expected to have about 15,000 m2 and that would integrate an area of ​​early care and a day center.
Cartagena will also launch the first Integrated Unit of the Region, a reduced center of 100 m² so that 7 or 8 people with autism learn to live in society.
On the other hand Takaoka, mother of a girl with autism, has encouraged anyone who wants to participate and collaborate in this sporting event, which has wanted to explain that despite being 10 kilometers, each participant can travel what he can.
The important thing is to participate and collaborate with this initiative.
Astrade is an association dedicated specifically to autism with more than 20 years of history, representing about 600 families in the Region, 170 of them in the Region of Cartagena.
