This Thursday, March 23, will begin the auditions of the first phase of the Contest Between Strings and Metals, in this 20th edition, which will involve 191 young students of professional music education from different conservatories and music schools throughout the Region.
Thus, young performers from the music conservatories of Cartagena, Murcia, Lorca, San Javier, Jumilla, Cieza and Caravaca, as well as the School of Music Chaplin, in the modalities of singing, guitar, percussion, wind, metal, string, piano , Wood wind, flamenco singing, flamenco guitar and the newly incorporated Chamber Music.
The competition consists of two phases, a tie and another final that will be developed from this Thursday, with the first phase of the woodwind mode, until April, in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena.
Next week, from March 27 to 30, will come the turn of wind metal, chamber music, string and piano.
In April, from the 3rd, 5th and 6th, the singing, percussion and guitar will arrive, which will constitute the final phases of these modalities, and flamenco, on Tuesday, April 4.
The rest of the finals are scheduled from 18 to 26 April.
In addition, the entrance to all the concerts will be free and free until completing capacity.
The closing ceremony will be on Friday, May 12, with an event that will take place in Room A Del Auditorio and Congersos El Batel Center, where the awards gala will take place and a concert by the Chamber Orchestra Of Cartagena, which will feature the flamenco guitarist Luis Felipe Rodríguez and the phallicist Álvaro Canales as soloists;
And the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, directed by Andrés Pérez.
On the other hand, the amount of the prizes have increased by 33% in this edition number 20 of the contest of young interpreters, so that a total of 15,050 euros is distributed, in which a first prize will be distributed in each one of the Individual modalities of 900 euros, a second of 400 euros, and a third of 150 euros, with the novelty this year, in addition, in each of the individual modalities to award a Special Prize 'City of Cartagena' valued at 100 euros, Awarded to the best participant born or resident in Cartagena who reached the final in his specialty did not receive any award.
In Chamber Music will be awarded a first prize valued at 1,500 euros and a second of 700 euros.
