The Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martín, Monday asked the people responsible for Hidrogea to pay about 60,000 euros of the receipts of the social fund for the months of November and December 2016 Which the company did not meet despite having committed to do so.
"From Social Services we understand that Hidrogea has to take charge because it was agreed to. They decided unilaterally to stop assuming payment of the Social Fund this year and that it must assume the outstanding payments of 2016," explained the Councilor for Social Services, Carmen Martin.
The Department of Social Services has already faced the payment of 54 aid to pay the water receipt for € 11,219.73 from January to mid-March.
Thirty of these 54 subsidies have been used to suspend water shortages suffered by users due to non-payment of receipts.
In January, 4 petitions for 985.27 euros were taken;
In February, 24 for a total amount of 4,090.25 euros;
And until mid-March, 22 aid for 5,282.63 euros.
Hidrogea will be responsible for these payments, as agreed today by the deputy mayor and the councilor with Fulgencio Diaz, manager of the water concessionaire.
On the other hand, the Department of Social Services will sign a protocol with Hidrogea to expedite the management of receipts of citizens who can not take care of them.
So far, Hidrogea paid the social fund, but a few months ago decided unilaterally that it did not take care of it.
This situation has forced the Department of Social Services to assume it.
"The receipts are still issued by Hidrogea and we need to create a protocol to manage them properly," said Carmen Martín.
