The Mayor of Cartagena, José López, and the Councilor for Finance, Isabel García, attended this Friday, March 17, at the Miserere Mass, organized every year by the Marraja Brotherhood and officiated by the chaplain of the same, Fernando Gutiérrez Reche, who spoke before a Military Parish of Santo Domingo replete with faithful of the four brotherhoods pasionarias of Cartagena.
The Miserere is traditionally celebrated on the Friday of the third week of Lent and is considered the most important of the cults to Jesus Nazareno, titular of the brotherhood.
During the liturgy, Tomas Luis de Victoria, who celebrated 50 years of participation in this Mass, and the Musical Group Sauces, took part in the Mass.
In addition, also during the mass, rosemary branches were blessed and distributed among the attendants.
After the liturgical celebration, which began at 21.00 hours, the mayor moved to the Jardín Botánico restaurant in El Albujón, where a brotherhood dinner of the brotherhood took place, starting at 10 pm.
