On the occasion of the European International Day of Ancient Music, celebrated in many cities of all the countries of the European Union, Russia and the United States, on Tuesday 21 March will be held various activities in Cartagena around the figure of Bach.
In this way, Cartagena becomes the first municipality in Murcia to join Early Music Day, the anniversary of Bach's birth, with training and participative activities.
This initiative aims to introduce the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Baroque musicians through concerts, conferences, workshops and participatory activities for all ages, bringing the Ancient Music to all corners of Cartagena.
At 11:15 hours, the old music ensemble 'La Galería del Claroscuro', formed by Anabel Sáez at the key and Eduardo Fenoll, professor at the Cartagena Conservatory, at the baroque violin, will offer a didactic concert for the students of the Artistic Bachelor of The institutes of Cartagena, in the Hall of the Palace Hall.
That same afternoon there will be a talk-concert under the title "Bach and the Music of the Enlightenment" by the Canary Island philoso- phy and musicologist Marina Hervás and musicians David Gutierrez (traverso), Borja Gimeno (Baroque violin) and Alberto Gómez Baroque cello).
The concert is part of the events of the Year of the Enlightenment and will begin at 7.30pm at the "Enrique Escudero" Archaeological Museum.
All activities of Bach cartagena are free and open access.

Bach Cartagena is organized by the Department of Culture, Education and Equality of the City of Cartagena and the Early Music Project platform, in collaboration with the Cartagena Professional Conservatory of Music, Cartagena Polytechnic University, Mare Nostrum Campus, University of Murcia, The ISEN Center, the UNED, the Choral Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Ministry of Culture and Portability of the CARM, the Institute of Cultural and Arts Industries, INAEM and the Catalan School of Music (ESMUC ).
