MC will present an appeal to the regional administration to oppose the current configuration of the Social Participation Committee of Mar Menor, a working group belonging to the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment, whose creation was announced by the Official Gazette of the Region On March 4, after the order issued by the aforementioned Ministry on February 28.
The text shows that, among the powers of this body of participation, are the knowledge on the ecological status of the Mar Menor and its evolution;
As well as the evaluation of the various actions necessary for the progressive improvement of it, contributing, integrating and expressing the social, economic and neighborhood interests, to facilitate that a global perspective in the formulation of solutions is taken into account.
It must also ensure compliance with the Comprehensive Management Plan for the protected areas of the Mar Menor and the rules and plans approved in this area, as well as the policies applied in the Mar Menor.

On the contrary, there is no possible argument to support the participation of the real victims (the residents of the Cartagena Region) and the professionals of the Mar Menor (professionals in the business sectors).
This indisputable discrimination towards the most representative groups of the Region of Cartagena in relation to the Mar Menor, can be nothing more than a maneuver to control the participation and to silence possible critical voices with the officialist version, or a retaliatory reaction against Those who do defend the natural environment represented by the salt lagoon and quality tourism associated with it.
It is indisputable that the neighbors and municipalities that make up our Region are the most affected by the problem that have generated the Autonomous Community and state agencies such as the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura and Demarcation of Coasts.
In this context, we now see how the regional administration sells a stake in which elements external to the Mar Menor take part, while other agents clearly involved and interested in recovering the natural heritage represented by the salt lagoon remain outside.
From MC we will remain vigilant of the external policies that affect our Region, as we did a few days ago announcing the malpractice in the regeneration of the beaches of the Mar Menor and, in this case, we will do in the development of what can happen in the Called the Mar Menor Social Participation Committee.
For this reason, we will resort judicially to allow the participation and legitimate exercise of control to the social and business agents of the Region of Cartagena.
