Websites against 'bullying' and applications for Alzheimer's patients in the HackForGood of the UPCT (10/03/2017)

A web page to help children who are victims of bullying, in which they can denounce anonymously the harassment they suffer, is one of the technological developments for social purposes that are planning this weekend dozens of young people at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) during the HackForGood event, promoted by Telefónica.

Other students, under the name 'REM Project', are working on an application that improves the memory of Alzheimer's patients.

It seeks to reinforce both visual and spatial and cognitive memory.

And a group of students who study Telematics Engineering at the UPCT are developing a new type of social network that will help organize free time and find people with similar interests.

This new edition of HackForGood, held until Saturday simultaneously in 22 universities located in fourteen cities, presents this year the novelty that the developers of the Region of Murcia can go to Cartagena to participate jointly.

Entrepreneurship and cybersecurity talks

Participants will continue to 'hack for good' until 5:30 pm on Saturday, when the local prizes will be delivered:

- 1,000 euros to the winning team

- 600 euros to the second classified

- 400 euros to the third classified

- 100 euros for the best ICT solution

- 100 euros special for the best design

- 100 euros special to the best business proposal

In addition, there are three national prizes that distribute 9,000 euros, in competition with the other HackForGood venues.

All local winners will have the option to continue developing their creations until next September, when the First HackForGood Big Day is celebrated, with another 12,000 euros of prize.

The initiative, promoted by Telefónica, is open to all those who, either individually or in a group, register for free through the web http://hackforgood.net/inscripciones and respond to the challenges previously proposed .
