The mayor of Cartagena, José López, met this Thursday, March 9, with representatives of the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena to advance in the programming of the first concert of Holy Week of this musical group, which will perform on Saturday of passion, April 8, different marches and touches typical of Semana Santa Cartagena with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.
Alberto Garre, the musician and representative of the orchestra, Pedro Martínez, explained to the mayor the details of this project of concert of marches of procession arranged for symphonic orchestra , Something that had never been done until the moment, and that arose from a concert that took place in Christmas in which the orchestra of camera already acted in symphonic format.
At the meeting the details of this concert will be finalized and will be directed by the director of the band of the Tercio de Levante, Jaime Enguídanos, and it has been specified that the concert will take place on the first Saturday of Easter, April 8 in Auditorium and congress center El Batel.
Arrangements to adapt to the orchestra the marching processions, traditionally composed for band of music, will be in charge of the cartageneros Javier Sánchez Garrido and Jose Alberto Pina.
The two Carthaginian musicians will prepare the program of the concert, which will interpret marches as Our Father Jesus, Mektub, In Memoriam, Descent, Triumphal, Virgin of the Rosary and Crucifixus, as well as a bolt and characteristic touches such as Micaela, Perico Pelao and Marches of grenadiers and Jews, which are, in Garre's words, something "unique and unique to Cartagena's Holy Week."
