Two Carthaginians were named yesterday afternoon Academics Correspondents of the Royal Academy Alfonso X the Wise.
They are Luis Miguel Pérez Adán, historian and archaeologist, official chronicler of Cartagena, professor of the UPCT-UMAY and technician of the Municipal Archive;
And Pedro Fondevila Silva, naval historian and former director of the Naval Archives of Cartagena.
This increases the specific weight within this body of Cartagena and its history, along with other prominent members such as Cayetano Tornel, Elena Ruiz Valderas, Federico Maestre de San Juan and José María Rubio Paredes, among others.
The Royal Academy Alfonso X el Sabio was born in Murcia in 1940, and depends on the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, as an autonomous body and with legal personality.
Since its foundation, it has been affiliated to the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and is part of the Spanish Confederation of Local Studies Centers and the Spanish Institute.
