Heart, body and mind to successfully face the Route of Strengths (07/03/2017)

The Ceremony Hall of the Consistorial Palace hosted this Monday, March 6, the celebration of the round table 'Heart, body and mind', framed within the activities prior to the Route of the Strengths, and that was presided over by the Councilor for Sports Of Cartagena, Ricardo Segado.

This initiative, organized by Practiser with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena and the School of Marine Infantry 'General Albacete and Fuster', aimed to improve the knowledge of the athletes participating in this test, dealing with topics as diverse as injury prevention Or mental strength.

During his speech, Segado said that this proposal "serves to continue technifying physical activity, a science that seeks the harmony and balance of body, mind and strength of both when working in a coordinated way."

Likewise, the mayor of Deportes said that "the Route of Strengths is enriched year after year by the experience of the organizers, by the participation of expert runners and by these important scientific and advisory contributions."

The meeting was attended by four experts in the field, such as the Section Chief of the Cardiology Department of the Morales Meseguer Hospital and Cardiologist of Practiser, Matías Pérez, who spoke about the benefits and risks of physical exercise, as well as Cardiovascular prevention;

Or the physiotherapist, Genaro Zapata, who focused his explanation on how to improve performance and prevent injuries.

The graduates in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Víctor Serrano, who tackled the importance of sports nutrition in high-performance tests such as the Route of Strengths, as well as the graduate in psychology and leadership expert, Cristina Mora, completed the interventions. The most important aspects to take into account in relation to strength in body and mind.

VIII edition of the Route of Strengths

The Route of Strengths reaches this year its eighth edition.

The test was officially presented last January 12 by the mayor, José López, who highlighted the "spectacular mix of sport, heritage and nature" that meets this test.

The competition will feature a 53-kilometer course that will involve nearly 4,000 athletes.

Likewise, the mayor noted "the spectacularity and uniqueness of the event," and stressed that "there may not be as complete an athletic test in the world as this."
