'Cinema and women: The glass ceiling' is the motto that gives name to the roundtable that will take place next Thursday, March 9, at 8 pm, in the Adult Library of the Cultural Center Ramón Alonso luzzy on the occasion of the Day International Women's Day.
This colloquium moderated by Esther Baeza, director of the Cartagena Film Festival, and organized by the program of the Department of Culture, Cartagena Piensa, aims to make visible the reality that has been lived and that continues to exist around the figure of women In the cinematographic world.
"The glass ceiling" refers to the celluloid wall that exists in any field for women, where it reigns even more in the world of cinema.
This ceiling is manifested in two different areas: on the one hand, in the image that shows the women's cinema, and on the other, that the fact of being a woman continues to negatively determine the professional career in the cinematographic field, something that is reflected In the scarce feminine presence in positions of direction, production or script.
Eva Libertad, screenwriter and director, Cecilia Ibáñez, filmmaker, and Ana Belén Baeza, producer, director and actress, as interveners of the round table "Cinema and women: The glass ceiling" will address various issues on this subject and analyze the figure Current woman in the cinema with attendees.
This event joins, together with other activities organized by different municipal departments of Cartagena, the program "Equals from the root" on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day.
