The world of thunder paid tribute this Friday, March 3, to trovero Angel Roca, in an event that took place in the cultural center Ramón Alonso Luzzy with the performance of repentistas and crews, and which was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, José López, Deputy Mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, and the Councilor for the Office and Transparency Portal, María José Soler.
The trophy association José María Marín was the organizer of this event, with which the Cartagena City Council collaborated, thus recognizing the great work of this Cartagena artist who links the generation of the legendary Marín, which emerged in the 1940s of the last century.
Thus Troveros like Ballesta, Pedro Cantares and Picardías, next to a young Rock, were in charge of rebuilding the tradition of the improvised versification and possibly without its contest the thunder would have fallen into oblivion forever.
The event began with the speeches of the presenter, the official chronicler of Cartagena José Sánchez Conesa, and the president of the Trofé Association José María Marín, José Martínez Sánchez 'El Taxista', who acknowledged the work of trovero since the mid-1940s and They remembered that Roca was the first president, in 1992, of this trovera association.

The creatures interpreted a malagueña, improvising letters dedicated to Rock by the scripts.
In this way, the band of Fuente Álamo, the students of the Trovo School of La Unión, the troveros of the orchard of Murcia and those of the organizing association took part in the tribute.
Cantaores Francisco García Pedreño and Miguel Ángel Cervantes also took the stage.
At the same time, during the ceremony a sequence of images was projected narrating the life of Angel Roca, from his childhood and with photos of family scenes, art, tributes and cuts of the press about his performances.
Finally, the honoree received different distinctions and acknowledgments throughout his career, including the appointment, by the City of La Union, of 'perpetual master of the thunder in La Union', and a recognition he received from the mayor of Cartagena, José López, who attended the event accompanied by the deputy mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
Roca himself intervened closing the act with three new poems that he has written recently, and which he interpreted for the first time in the homage.
