A simple gesture like buying a bicycle was the spark that aroused in Laura Celdrán, a telecommunications engineer and former student of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), the desire to set up her own company.
Two years after establishing CoreBicycle, a bicycle products comparator, through which Laura already employs 4 workers, has won the Caixa's Initiatives for Entrepreneurial Development initiative.
When Laura Celdrán began studying engineering of Telecommunication in the Polytechnic University of Cartagena little could imagine that a decade later would be its own head.
'The UPCT helped me a lot because during the race we put in contact with companies to participate in their projects', recounts remembering her stage as a trainee in the chair T-CLONE-UPCT.
"I am very happy with the training I have received," he says, while stressing that the University 'furnishes' the students' heads to' once they are able to learn how to perform a job '.
He reports that when he bought a bicycle he discovered that the pedals did not come in the package and had to spend about three hours searching for them online.
"A person can not be so long to look for bicycle accessories," he says.
From there came the idea of 'CoreBicycle', which already work 4 people.
"It is very encouraging to receive recognition of this kind, especially since I do not have sponsors in this sector."
