The students of CEIP Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente de Los Nietos have enjoyed a special day this Thursday.
The girls and boys of this school have received the visit of several members of the Association Trovera José María Marín next to the delegated Councilor of Education, David Martínez, in the first day of activity of the campaign of the exaltation of the thunder in the schools that Drives this group.
The Trovera Association José María Marín has been for 24 years with this campaign that seeks to bring this discipline that combines cante and poetry to the smallest to preserve Cartagena's cultural traditions.
From this year the City of Cartagena collaborates with this entity through the Department of Culture and Education.
MILLENNIUM TRADITION
The trovo inherits the baggage of the medieval Provençal troubadours who arrived in the peninsula in the XI century and whose collection has evolved into an improvised gloss composed of 24 octosyllabic verses and rhyme consonant that speaks about the concerns and chores of the people, for A part, and that has as maximum expression the controversy trovera.
In a way, by bridging distances and permitting the licenses of comparison, it could be said that this is a sort of protest song in which the most popular variety could be equated with what today are 'cockfights' in the jargon of Rap, although all this in the traditional way, collecting the cultural heritage of the customs and folklore of the area of ​​Cartagena and its region.
In this meeting have been acting on behalf of the Association, among others, José Martínez Sánchez 'El Taxista', Juan Santos 'El Baranda' and Miguel Ángel Cervantes 'El Liebre'.
The first of them has served as master of ceremonies and has been in charge of telling the students of the school Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente the millennial history of the thunder and explain what this discipline consists of and its different variants.
RECOVERY OF FOLKLORE IN SCHOOLS
The edil of Education, David Martinez, has affected the "need to recover those concerts that were made in schools," since the members of this group had transmitted it in a meeting they held, with what from the Council Decided to help the organization with the intention of maintaining "something so typical" of the folklore and customs of Cartagena.
"We started this course with this program and we will continue with this route also during the next year because what we want is for a program to work on everything that is our folklore and our traditions," Martinez said.
"What better than the thunder, which is something typically Cartagena for children to work on that impromptu poetry and know what our roots are?" Asked the councilman rhetorically.
Martínez has also commented that the thunder is "very related to the area of ​​language and literature and also can be related to the area of ​​music and many more."
He also underlined the main objective of this collaboration: "That our customs are not lost and that the little ones know this Cartagena tradition."
José Martínez Sánchez 'El Taxista', for his part, has been very pleased with the development of this day that he has described as 'perfect' in which the children have paid "much attention".
In another sense, he said that this discipline "is very important" given that "it is a very beautiful culture" and recalled that Cartagena is "the mother of this art".
PRESERVING LOCAL CULTURE
"A people without culture is nothing, and ours is very beautiful and very difficult," stated the representative of this trovera association.
That is why its main purpose is to keep this tradition alive.
"A lot of people are wrong, they think it's a thing of four old men. The thunder is for everyone and everyone," he said.
"In schools we want two very important things: first, let the thunder be known, let the children know the thunder and come and know what it is, and secondly, that among the children who are listening to us in this school there may be a Future trovero or a future trovera, "has listed 'El Taxista'.
Likewise, he has explained that the school trovera of the entity that represents "emerging new values" and has revealed some of the projects in which they are working as another trophy school in the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center for children 5th and 6th Of Primary and 1st, 2nd and 3rd of ESO or another in the old school Carmen Conde.
The route that will follow these days of the campaign of exaltation of the thunder in schools has begun in Los Nietos, and will continue in the College Azorín de Molinos Marfagones and Concepción Arenal.
