The Board of Directors of the Casco Antiguo Society of Cartagena today held a new session in the administrative building of San Miguel under the presidency of the mayor, José López.

During the meeting, the manager, Antonio García, has transmitted to the members of the Council a report on the current status of Casco Antiguo, as well as future lines of action.
Firstly, it has informed about the moment in which the participation of Casco in the European project MAPS (Military Assets as Public Spaces), centered in the recovery of the Castle of the Moors and the integration of the neighborhood of the Mateos in the urban network .
The European project MAPS is in its second phase, which began in June last year and will end in June 2018. During the same, a series of seminars are being held in each of the cities that are part with the aim of Progress in the selected projects and that will be developed in a third phase through a master plan.
On the other hand, it has been proposed the celebration of an Archaeological Campus on the Mount Sacro in which students of Archeology of the University of Murcia, National University of Distance Education (UNED), as well as other university institutions of the country, They will realize their summer practices helping in the tasks of excavation of the part of Mount Sacro.
In addition, it has approved the transfer to the City of Cartagena of houses that Casco Antiguo owns in the neighborhoods of Lo Campano and Santa Lucia so that they can be used with a social purpose for the relocation of the people that need it.

In addition, Garcia has been authorized to collect from the company awarded the works to adapt the University District, all relevant information to be able to start the works project.
Finally, in matters of procedure, Antonio García has proposed the delimitation of a new geographical scope for the application of the ARRU project.
