'Middle town' sets out the history of a municipality that is divided into two: the modern half, which is entering the industrial revolution, and the old half, which still remains in the Middle Ages.
Both parts are separated only by a street where encounters and friction are inevitable.
In comedic tone, the work details the chain of events that occur from the drop of a button to a catastrophe that affects both blocks.
The aesthetic proposal consists of the town, physically represented by more than fifty ragdolls arranged on the stage, each with a face, clothes and a different story.
This gives the staging a visual impact that makes of 'Middle town' a work that captivates the viewer from the first minute.
The Workshop Theater Theater of the Loft, in collaboration with the Platform of Performing Arts of Cartagena, has programmed this work within the activities scheduled during the month of March to celebrate World Theater Day, which is the 27th.
The piece, directed by the author himself, the Argentine writer Martín Giner, and represented by the actor -also Argentine- Gabriel Carreras, will be represented in the Cultural Hall of the headquarters of the Fundación Caja Mediterráneo this Friday March 3 at 20 : 30 hours.
This text has been represented by different groups in many countries, gathering excellent reviews.
Also, the staging has been widely awarded with several prizes in various festivals, such as the National Theater Festival of 2009, the Ibero-American Theater Festival of Mar del Plata or the Artea award for best original music, best single-person, and best Direction given by the Argentine Actors Association (AAA).
