The Economic Strategy Board, which is part of the Local Bureau for Employment, has been constituted this morning under the chairmanship of the Deputy Mayor and Councilor of the Economic Strategy Area, Ana Belén Castejón, and has agreed to draw up a Strategic Plan for The Employment for Cartagena and its Region.
The objective is to make a real and current diagnosis of the economic situation of the region of Cartagena, as explained Castejón.
"We want to deepen the knowledge of all economic sectors: industry, tourism, agri-food, trade, technology and finance, to know their real needs and to develop our employment strategies in function of them. A series of strategic objectives related to employment and we will set a schedule of actions to achieve them, "said the deputy mayor.
The members of this bureau, including trade unions, COEC, Chamber of Commerce, SEF, Info, UPCT, UNED and ADLE, have stressed that this is the first time in several decades The elaboration of a comprehensive plan, since the last similar document (only affected the historical center) was the Urban Plan, which designed a socialist government.
They have also influenced the need for Cartagena to successfully face the important technological challenge it faces, since both management and companies must meet the new technological demands of citizens.
In energy matters, the members of the bureau have highlighted the importance of the city adopting a different energy model than the current one, where clean energies gain weight compared to fossil fuels.
On the other hand, it has been emphasized that it is important to stop living with the back of the field because the fruit and vegetable sector generates a lot of wealth and employment and must be taken into account.
These issues will be taken into account in the drafting of the Strategic Plan for Employment, which will also include infrastructure and transport needs, such as the arrival of the AVE, the connection to the Mediterranean Corridor and the construction of the Logistic Actions (ZAL).
To begin the preparation of this plan, two documents will be used as the basis: the analysis of the muncipio that the UPCT elaborated for COEC and the report on the City's Smart City.
"They will be the bases on which we will work, but we want a broader document that takes into account all sectors and needs of our municipality," said Castejón.
With the meeting today, the two tables that are part of the Local Table for Employment have already met, whose quarterly meeting will be called shortly so that the political parties know the conclusions that have been reached and can make the proposals they consider Timely.
