In response to the latest news in the press about HIDROGEA's alleged donations to Artur Más's party (€ 60,000 in 2012), CTSSP states the following:
It is clear that the company has hostages to the municipalities, and now we learn that also the parties.
It is unacceptable for a private monopoly to intervene in the political life of a territory, distributing presumptions at the expense of the money of the users of other municipalities.
If it were found that the donations were made, one would have to ask why they were made.
Do the parties then return these incentives?
What consideration did the company receive in return?
If the complaints investigated in the press are true, it is worth asking if the receipt of water from Cartagena is one of the most expensive in Spain for strictly technical reasons, or on the contrary, it is due to the deviations that the company makes to finance electoral campaigns that nothing Have to do with Cartagena.
From CTSSP we understand even better the reluctance of the company to join the Table of the Water Tariff: it prefers to pass through the offices of political groups rather than sit down with all the social agents of the municipality.
The municipal government has said on several occasions that the price of water is not negotiated but is calculated.
In the light of the latest developments since CTSSP we wonder if it is really calculated, whether it is negotiated with C's or with the company separately based on their own accounts.
Is it that the City Council is going to take for granted the numbers of a monopoly that apparently participates in the 3% plot?
In view of all these antecedents from CTSSP we demand, today more than ever, the accomplishment of an audit that puts black on white the costs of the service of the water;
The urgent call of the Water Monitoring Commission for the Government to report in detail what is its tariff proposal for the year 2017;
The inclusion of the water service in the Municipal Budget;
The conversion of water into tax and the cancellation of the extension of the contract until 2042.
We also demand the investigation by the municipal government of irregularities appeared in the press, specifically if these alleged irregular financing schemes have also reached the City of Cartagena and that investigate the possible over costs of the service in our municipality, as has been done In Lorca.
