The Councilor for Education, David Martinez, welcomed this morning the 25 Italian students of the Technical Institute Lunardi (Brescia), who will be in Cartagena until next February 25.
The students have come to take an intensive Spanish course, taught by the Cartagena Foundation for teaching Spanish language and culture (Funcarele), at the facilities of the Maritime Instruction Headquarters of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) .
The mayor has encouraged them to immerse themselves in "the exciting history of our town and to enjoy the activities that are developing in the sites and centers of interpretation", as well as to "savor the extraordinary cuisine of Cartagena."
The reception was also attended by the Vice-rector of Internationalization and Cooperation for Development of the UPCT, José Manuel Fernández, the president of Funcarele, Miguel Martínez Bernal, the International Relations Director of the UPCT, Beatriz Marín, and Anna Gargiulo as responsible Of the program.
Throughout these days, students will have free time to tour the municipality and learn about our history and gastronomy, as well as other nearby localities.
