The new reissue of the book '12 trees', by Ricardo Codorníu and Stárico, will be used to obtain funds to erect in the city a sculpture in honor to the cartagenero writer.
This was announced by the Creect Association, which promotes this initiative as well as the edition of this work and the exhibition that complements it.
The book, which has been reedited and illustrated by local artists a century after its creation, contains 12 fables on the care of nature and respect for the environment dedicated in their last years of life to 12 of their grandchildren.
The work was presented this Friday February 17 in the hall of ceremonies of the Palace Hall, in an event chaired by the councilman of the area of ​​Culture, Ricardo Segado, who also attended the Councilor for the Environment, Francisco Calderon, and the delegate councilor Of Hacienda, Isabel Garcia, and in which the local illustrators and artists who have participated in this project signed some copies of the same.
Also present were other members of the Corporation such as Manuel Padín and Ana Rama.
Also, the sketch of the sculpture was presented.
After the presentation, the Subjective Exhibition Hall of the Consistorial Palace was opened, where the original works of the artists who have illustrated this reedition are exposed.
